2 Ways to Subtract Negative Numbers | 7.NS.A.1
In this math video we will review two ways to subtract negative numbers. We will use the Subtraction Rule and we will use a number line to model subtraction. The Subtraction Rule states to subtract, change the subtraction sign to addition and then the value that follows the subtraction sign to its opposite. Or, change to addition and add the opposite. Student friendly language - KEEP - CHANGE - OPPOSITE. I will model both using this rule and modeling on a number line. Five student practice problems are presented one at a time and each has a modeled solution.
