Arithmetic: What are Integers (aka Whole Numbers, Counting Numbers, Natural Numbers)

We call them whole numbers, counting numbers, natural numbers...but the mathy-math name is integers. This includes the numbers you use to count things:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and so on...And the absence of things:-1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6, and so on...And don't forget the number 0 (zero) to say we have exactly NO things.
