Bear Ripping Apart Log
The American black bear boasts a sense of smell that is seven times greater than that of a bloodhound! The yearling black bear in this video has no trouble using its keen sense of smell to detect ants, termites, or insect larvae inside the log and its natural strength allows it to easily rip out large portions of the log to get to the insects. This combination of strength and sensing ability makes it especially important for visitors to be aware of proper food storage when visiting the park.
