First set of adavus or steps in bharatanatyam are called thattadavu or striking steps. a new learner is expected to learn and practice these basic adavus repeatedly as these are the building blocks for a good foundation in learning bharatanatyam. this video is only for reference. any learning of bharatanatyam should be done under the proper guidance of a guru.
