Blood Pressure (Measurement and Control)
In this live-action program viewers will learn that blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of arteries and as the heart beats, it creates the pressure exerted by blood, moving blood throughout the circulatory system. Students will come to understand that blood pressure indicates cardiovascular health. They will discover that this interaction creates a negative feedback system that maintains blood pressure homeostasis. The program discusses the physiological influences on blood pressure including diet, exercise, disease, drugs, alcohol, stress, and obesity.
