This is both a science experiment as well as a toy. hang a pen so that it can oscillate freely. attach a strong neodymium magnet at the end of the pen. place 4 magnets on a steel plate base such that the strong magnet is just 2-3mm above. the poles of these magnets repel the magnet on the pen.
on releasing the pen you will find that it moves in a very funny manner.
