Happy Groundhog's Day! - Meet the Future Star of Groundhog's Day 2

One of the greatest holidays EVER has to be Groundhog Day! Will winter continue for 6 more weeks or are we heading for any early spring? According to folklore it’s all up to our subterranean friend the Groundhog! If you don’t celebrate the day then you must at the very least celebrate the classic Bill Murray comedy “Groundhog Day” and today we pay tribute to both! On this episode of Breaking Trail Coyote Peterson is at the Ohio Wildlife Center in central Ohio, working alongside wildlife educator Barbara Ray, where he is getting to hangout with his new pal Wendell the Groundhog. Wendell sadly has permanent nerve damage that causes him to walk in circles rendering him unable to survive in the wild, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying life and serving as one of the many animal ambassadors at OWC’s Nature Education Center. On most days Wendell is in good spirits and about as friendly as a groundhog can be…that is unless you bring up the fact that he wasn’t cast as Punxsutawney Phil in Groundhog Day! Don’t worry Wendell, we will make sure your name is on the top of the list when they cast Groundhog Day 2…I’m looking at you Bill Murray!
