The earth takes one year to orbit the sun but we can measure the length of a year in several ways. If I were to ask (and I do) how would you measure the length of a year? In reference to distant stars? By the time between two closest approaches of the Earth's orbit? By the time between two equinoxes? By keeping track of the phases of the moon?
