The Mars rover Curiosity has been sending back a constant stream of information from Mars to Earth since it touched down on the red planet on August 6. Curiosity can communicate direct with Earth directly by using its high-gain antenna (HGA). A faster way is communication via the two NASA satellites orbiting Mars. This animation explains how Curiosity communicates with Earth via the Mars orbiters.
