Magnetic Resonance Imagine, or MRI, is primarily a medical imaging technique used to visualise the internal structure and limited function of the human body. MRI provides a much greater contrast between the different soft tissues of the body than that of a CT scan or an x-ray. Because of this the technology is widely used in brain, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and cancer imaging.
