Upon viewing the Light video series, students will be able to do the following: List some of the reasons light is important to all living things. Understand that light is a type of energy. Describe how light behaves both as a wave and as a stream of moving particles. State that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. Illustrate the wavelength of a wave. Describe frequency as the number of complete waves that pass a point per unit of time. Explain how the electromagnetic spectrum is organized. Provide examples of some of the different types of light we cannot see. List the various colors found in the visible spectrum. Describe the process of light dispersion using a prism.
