Mouldy Bread Science Experiment
A great way to encourage children to wash their hands is by showing them how dirty their environment really can be. This science experiment may be kind of gross, but it is the perfect example of how much bacteria can grow just by touching everyday things. When doing this activity, don’t forget to wash your hands after everything you touch and wear gloves when handling anything with mould and bacteria on it. You can change the variables to ones that suit you best but remember to leave one piece of bread fresh and untouched so you can compare the differences. Begin to make hypotheses on which one you will think will be the mouldiest and why?
