Moving Muscles and Bones: the Muscular System

Upon viewing the Moving Muscles and Bones video series, students will be able to do the following: Differentiate between cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. Provide examples of organs and organ systems in the body. Understand that the skeleton is the body's framework. The skeletal system consists of bones and materials that connect them. Provide examples of where the different types of muscle tissues are located in the body. Describe examples of measures that should be taken to take care of muscles and bones, including: avoiding injuries; wearing protective equipment, such as a helmet, when engaging in certain sports; eating a healthy, well-balance diet; and exercising vigorously at least five times per week.
