Newton’s Second Law: Spiderman And The Death Of Gwen Stacy
Did you know that Gwen stacy's death and Newton’s second law of motion have a connection? In the comics “The Amazing Spiderman”, Gwen Stacy dies after she is pushed off a bridge. Spiderman jumps behind her to catch her in his webbing, but he couldn’t save her. This entire situation that involves the death of Gwen Stacy is connected to the second law of motion postulated by Newton. Every individual on earth, whether they are a regular fellow or a superhero, are bound by the three laws of motion proposed by eminent scientist Sir Isaac Newton. In this video, we are going to discuss how Spiderman, a popular Marvel world superhero, learnt the application of the second law of motion through a heartbreaking incident - the death of Gwen Stacy - his girlfriend. Newton’s second law of motion states that the acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object. In one of the editions of the Amazing Spiderman comic series, Gwen Stacy is thrown off a bridge. Spiderman shoots his web to catch her, and he does catch her too. But to his utter shock and dismay, it's his web that ultimately resulted in the death of Gwen Stacy. Let's look at how it all happened and how Spiderman changed his tactic of saving free falling victims after learning the proper application of the second law of motion.
