ROV JASON

This is JASON, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s state-of- the-art Remotely Operated Vehicle. Supported by the National Science Foundation, it's equipped with sonars, video and still imaging systems and sampling capabilities. Aboard the host vessel, researchers investigate the deep ocean and seafloor in real time without ever leaving the ship. With submersibles like JASON, NSF will continue to discover and understand the secrets of the deep.
