Solve a Quadratic Equation Using the Zero Product Property | HS.A-REI.B.4 🖤💙
In this math video we will solve a quadratic equation using the Zero Product Property. We will understand that the given equation is a quadratic equation in factored form equal to zero. We will learn that the Zero Product Property states that . . . If the product of two or more factors is zero, then at least one of the factors must be zero. We will identify the two factors in the equation. We will write two equations using these factors, setting each equation equal to zero using the Zero Product Property. We will solve each of the two simple equations by identifying the necessary inverse operations. We will check the solutions to be sure they are solutions of the given quadratic equation. We will review the possible solutions from the multiple choice answers and identify the solutions of the quadratic equation in factored form. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
