With old syringes you can make a magnificent telescopic jack. you will require 4 different sizes of syringes. here one syringe is put inside the other. threads are tied to limit the expansion range of each syringe. fill water in a 20-ml large syringe and connect it to the telescopic jack with a small piece of saline tube. on pushing all the three syringes will sequentially expand to their limits. on pulling the plunger out all the syringes will retract.
