Things in Motion: Things on the Move

Upon viewing the Things in Motion video series, students will be able to do the following: Identify a moving object and describe its movement as related to its frame of reference. Provide examples of forces in everyday life such as a push or pull. Describe the force of gravity and provide an example of gravity at work. Differentiate between mass and weight of an object. Define the force of friction, and provide an example of friction at work. Describe how friction may be increased or decreased. Define the term inertia. Compute the speed of a moving object. Differentiate between speed and velocity. Describe the process of acceleration, and provide an example of an accelerating object.
