Topography and the Earth: the Land

This program describes the major topographical features of Earth including mountains, plains, and plateaus. Footage from throughout North America takes students to the Rocky Mountains, the plains of Iowa, and the Colorado Plateau to illustrate these major features. The characteristics of Earth's interior are also explored. Other terminology includes: topography, landscape, elevation, sea level, relief, mountain range, plateau, crust, lithosphere, asthenosphere, mantle, and core.
