Uncovering the Ancient History of the Satina River Valley in Croatia
The researchers from Birmingham University have discovered that the valley of the River Satina in Croatia is an incredibly significant archaeological region in Europe. Through the examination of artifacts and sediment spanning 8000 years, they are able to map the early history of human life in the region, including agricultural practices, animal husbandry, and defense strategies. Additionally, by analyzing core samples of peat and studying pollen traces, they can gain insights into the environmental changes that have occurred over thousands of years. This research is being supported by the British and Slovene Academies.
