In this math video we will deepen our understanding of cube roots. We will be answering a question where we are asked to approximate a non-perfect square root using a number line. We will recognize that the whole number values on the number line can be written as perfect squares. We will review that perfect squares are rational numbers. We will then identify which two perfect squares the given non-perfect squares lie between. We will eliminate answer choices outside of that range. We will understand that all square roots that lie between any two perfect squares are irrational since they are equal to non-repeating and non-terminating decimals. We will determine the distance the given square root is from each of the perfect squares it lies between and identify the correct point that approximates its location on the number line.
