Water Conservation in the Heart of the Desert
At the center of the four camps of the Wolwedans eco lodge is the hotel village, where employee dwellings and technical equipment are located. In this arid environment, water conservation is crucial. Stephan’s team discovered a drinking water source 132 meters below ground, which is pumped to the surface daily and monitored closely. They also implemented a water recycling system to manage wastewater, using it to irrigate non-edible plants and maintain the greenery around the village. Building Tomorrow episode 5, part 2
