Weathering and Soils: Introduction

In this video students will learn about the two major types of weathering, and the forces that alter the shape and composition of rocks. Students will explore the different types of soils, soil properties and the soil profile. Other terminology includes: mechanical weathering, chemical weathering, oxidation, soil formation, soil texture, horizons, leaching, subsoil, soil conservation, and groundwater.
