Sun is obviously the hottest thing in our Solar System, but it is a mere candle when compared to several other stars and stellar phenomena, particularly supernova. A supernova is a transient event that marks the last evolutionary stage in the life of a star in which its life ends with a colossal explosion. The temperatures at the core during this explosion reach up to 100 billion degrees Celsius, which is 6000 times the temperature of the Sun’s core. However, supernovae aren’t the hottest things in the Universe. In fact, the hottest thing in the Universe has been found or rather created on our own planet at the CERN laboratory in Geneva. The coldest natural spot in the Universe currently is the Boomerang Nebula, which resides 5,000 light-years away from us. Its temperature is measured to be 1 Kelvin or -272.15 degrees Celsius.
