British space scientists are pushing for another attempt to explore the surface of Mars, using technology from previous missions. Inspired by the results from Mars Express and motivated by the previous failure of the Beagle 2 mission, they are determined to get it right this time. A detailed proposal for the mission will be submitted to the European Space Agency in December, with a planned launch in 2011 and arrival on Mars two years later.
