Floating Dry Ice Experiment
What happens when dry ice is added to a shallow amount of water? In this experiment, you can test this out for yourself. Using water and dry ice, watch the reactions of the different elements. Does the ice move? What does the water look like? Is it foggy or smoky? To further extend this experiment, you can also make a bottle cap float like a boat! Materials: - Pan or tray - Water - Food colouring - Dry Ice Instructions: (1) Pour the water into the tray. (2) Add the food colouring and give it a stir (3) Carefully add the dry ice and watch the reaction! For an extension experiment, make a small hole in the side of the bottle cap. Add your small piece of dry ice and cover with tape. Squirt the water from the syringe into the bottle cap and place it onto the tray of water.
