How to Estimate the MINIMUM Number of Tiles | 7.EE.B.3
In this math video we will learn how to estimate the minimum number of tiles needed to tile a rectangular area. We will be presented with the dimensions of a rectangular room in feet. We will be given the dimension of an individual square tile in inches. We will convert inches to feet. We will review the concept of minimum related to an inequality. We will determine the number of tiles to fill the width of the room and the number of tiles needed to fill the length of the room. We will multiply using the concept of area as base times height for a rectangle to determine the minimum number of tiles necessary to tile the rectangular floor. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
