I have planned this activity for quite some time and the day has finally come for my boys to play with magic water repellent sand. It is difficult to determine what type of activity it is - a bit of art, a bit of science, but what I can say for sure it is messy. To get ready, I went outside and sprayed a lot of fabric protector into a glass of coloured sand, mixed it and dried it. It took a few hours to dry. I have done this only once, but if you want to make the sand more water repellent, repeat the process two or three times.
