We know that when electricity flows through a coil it produces a magnetic field. all shaving razor blades have a residual magnetism. make a coil with 40-50 turns of insulated copper wire and hang a blade in its center. on passing current the coil will become an electromagnet and the blade will be oriented towards its field. on changing the direction of current the blade will turn the other way.
