Using Conversion Ratios
In this math video we will be using conversion ratios to change a recipe. We will be converting cups to fluid ounces and fluid ounces to tablespoons. We will answer a three part real world problem using conversion ratios to support our work. We will begin by converting 5/8 cup to fluid ounces. We will then determine the number of fluid ounces in a recipe by converting cups and tablespoons to fluid ounces. We will then determine how many servings of 3 tablespoons are in the recipe. We will use conversion ratios to write proportions. We will use equivalent ratios to determine missing values. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
