Parallel Lines and Transversals
In this video lesson, students will discover the many types of angles that are formed when parallel lines are cut by a transversal. Vocabulary is reviewed and explained. Visual diagrams are used to show the pattern between the eight angles formed by parallel lines and a transversal. The types of angles that are explained are vertical angles, corresponding angles, supplementary angles, alternate interior angles and alternate exterior angles. Student practice is embedded in the lesson. Exemplar problems are modeled and explained using content rich vocabulary.
