Repeating Decimals to Fractions
In this math video we will rewrite repeating decimals as fractions. You will learn how to algebraically transform a repeating decimal to a fraction in three easy steps. We will write two equivalent equations that represent the repeating decimal. We will multiply each side of the first equation by a power of ten using the number of repeating digits. We will subtract one equation from the other and simplify the fraction. We will rewrite three different repeating decimals as fractions in simplest form. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
