Find Percent of a Whole Number

In this math video we will find percent of a whole number and a fraction of a whole number. We will be presented with a real world situation. We will be asked to find the amount left after removing 25% of the whole. We will then be asked to determine the amount remaining after removing one-third of that remaining amount. We will use mental math strategies to understand that 25% is one-fourth or one of four equal parts. We will also use mental math to understand one-third is one of three equal parts. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
